Morocco: The 12th Tangier Film Festival runs from 8 to 11 November

The 12th edition of the Tangier Film Festival, which runs from 8 to 11 November, will be marked by the launch of a cooperation project between the Tangier Film Festival and the Granada International Film Festival «Premios Lorca», in the presence of a Spanish delegation made up of officials from the organising committee of this European festival.

In the run-up to the event, the winners of the 23rd National Film Festival (FNF) were announced on Saturday evening at the historic Borj Dar El Baroud in Tangier.

And it was director Adil El Fadili’s feature film, «Mon père n’est pas mort», which was awarded the festival’s Grand Prize.

A total of 22 films are competing for this year’s awards in the short fiction category, representing Portugal, Egypt, Spain, Hungary, Austria, France, Egypt, Turkey, South Africa, India, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Jordan, Malaysia, Korea, the Netherlands, Tunisia and Qatar.

In the short documentary category, 14 films have been entered from the Netherlands, Turkey, Lebanon, Iraq, Pakistan, Italy, the UK, Spain, Morocco, Germany, China and Egypt.

In addition, 21 films from the United States of America, Portugal, Iran, Taiwan, Switzerland, Jordan, Japan, Colombia, Mexico, Ireland, the Czech Republic, France, Spain, Australia, Slovenia, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Morocco and Qatar are taking part in the animated shorts competition.

The Sultanate of Oman is taking part in the festival with five films: «Al-Zij», «Never Dive Alone», «Où es-tu, mon fils», «Un cri d’enfant» and «El Manyour».
